Front
This morning we spoke at Redemption Church here in Jacksonville (NC). It’s a brand new church plant that’s being pastored by Pastor Tim and Kerry Dupree. Not only is Redemption a new supporting church of Rehoboth Ministries, but Tim and his family have become great friends. We had a wonderful time sharing with their congregation and if you are ever in the Jacksonville area, you need to stop in on a Sunday morning and meet some special people. (Service begins at 9:30.) Do you have small children and wonder if they’ll fit in? Oh my, yes! The church is full of little ones and Sunday school is a vital part. You’ll fit in just fine. In addition to being blessed by these wonderful folks, Tim and Kerry (who own Sophie’s Trophies) had several t-shirts made up for our ministry. I asked John to model one so that you can see it. The front says, ”God has made room for us” with an outline of the country of Haiti. The back says, ”We will be fruitful in the land.” It also includes our website address: rehobothhaiti.com. This is what Rehoboth means in the Hebrew and reaches back to the story of Isaac digging three wells in a foreign land. These three wells had been dug by his father, Abraham, initially and the Philistines came and stopped them up. As you can imagine, wells were of great importance in such a dry and arid country. One’s life virtually depended on the water from that well to live, give to their livestock, plus a host of other things. The story tells us that Isaac’s enemies came and stopped up his first two wells just as Abraham’s enemies had done. This must have included backbreaking work and days of labor under the glaring desert sun. But, instead of retaliating, Isaac went on to dig a third well. When his enemies did not contend with him for this well, he named it Rehoboth. Hence, the declaration which he made concerning God making him fruitful in the land.

Thank you Pastor Tim and Kerry for your labor of love and such a beautiful gift. Thanks, John, for modeling for us. Speaking of John, he returns to Haiti a week from today and we will miss him terribly. He has just updated his website, so I encourage you to read his latest news. https://backtohaiti.com. John writes from another perspective of life in the States and of that in Haiti. Please remember him in your prayers as he gets ready to head back to a broken country and a hurting people. We are greatly anticipating spending the next week with our whole family here before John leaves. So, you can definitely count on some upcoming pictures of the most adorable grandchildren on the planet!
