September 2026 Newsletter

Friends,

The brother in the picture above is David Lindor. David first came to my attention over a decade ago when I was teaching at the Bible college in Haiti. He quickly set himself apart as a careful student, a gifted preacher, and a man of exceptional integrity.

One of the things that impressed me about David was how meticulous he was. Once, I let him guest teach my class and he developed a rich lesson out of what I had thought was a very rudimentary page in the textbook. It was clear that he had reflected thoroughly upon what he had to say and that he had left no stone unturned.

When I asked him where his study habits had come from, his answer blew me away. “When I was a child,” he told, “my teachers often wouldn’t show up because the school couldn’t always pay them on time,” he told me. “Whenever that happened, I would go around to other classrooms where classes were happening and absorb as much as I could.” He learned not to wait to be taught. Instead, he took the initiative and sopped up every bit of information he could.
