Despite Haitian holidays, then days of nonstop rain and massive flooding in Cap-Haitian, our schools will finally reopen on Monday. Our area in Petite-Anse was one of the hardest hit of them all because our church members don’t live too far from the sea. We’ve heard report after report of our Haitian friends being prisoners in their own homes due to the awful flooding while others worked tirelessly to sweep their overrun homes clean of – not dirt – but water! In spite of all their hardships, we continually marvel over their optimistic attitudes. One friend was telling me the other day, “The water came up this far!”(Chest deep), all the while laughing. You don’t have to wonder how all this must have affected our school kids, however, knowing their best meals are found at school.

We are asking for your help in the raising of funds for our feeding program. Will you make a one-time gift or, better yet, commit to monthly giving so that we can continue to pay our cooks’ salaries and make sure the program continues for these precious children? With your help we can do exploits together!
