Teamwork Pays

“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson

I grew up in a family who loved sports. My two older brothers played every sport our high school had to offer. I played basketball as well and still love the game. We would spend countless hours in the gym perfecting our strategies. I love the quote above by the former head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls. Phil Jackson won eleven NBA championships, the most in NBA history. He won six titles with the Chicago Bulls and five titles with the Lakers, and is the only coach who has won multiple championships with more than one team. Why was he so successful? I believe there were many reasons, such as knowing how to recognize the potential of a player and what he brings to the team. He also knew how to bring different players’ giftings together allowing them to find their rhythm on the court. Michael Jordan (the Bulls) is thought of as the best basketball player of all time. But, even Michael knew he couldn’t win a championship all by himself.

We, here at Rehoboth Ministries, recognize how very dependent we are on other members of our team. Our leaders in Haiti are faithfully carrying on our work in our absence. They are an incredible team that continues to get the job done while we communicate from afar. You, our donors, are another essential element to this team. Some of you have a burden to feed children. Others want to help train up leaders. Still others have come and given your time to share your giftings with our people. Those of you who sow into this work (no matter what the capacity) are key players helping us to accomplish victories we never dreamed possible! Others have used your persuasiveness to encourage others to give after sharing your stories about the people of Haiti and the needs represented. Then there are the prayer warriors who prefer to remain ”incognito” that pray for the success of this ministry. We are so grateful for each and every one of you!

Thanks for helping us do the impossible.
