Renewing drivers’ licenses, meeting with H&R Block about taxes we were unable to get filed while in Haiti, getting an eye exam for Dana and sending a check to cover the payroll in Haiti are just a few of the many things we have been doing since we flew into Raleigh on June 7th. Seems the days are passing all too quickly and before you realize it, we’ll already be into the month of July!
Therefore…. I am finally getting around to posting an update. Needless to say, we are SO happy to be stateside. Our son, Gabe, flies in from Portland, Oregon, on Friday and next week we will travel to West Virginia to see our daughter, Deb, and the rest of her family. That means seeing our #1 grandson, Sam!
We hope to see many of you while we’re here. Your friendship and support mean all the world to us and we hope to get the opportunity to say a personal “thank you” for being the driving force behind Rehoboth Ministries.
We visited Enon Chapel in Jacksonville, NC, on Sunday. What an encouragement to see a request in their bulletin to pray for Rehoboth Ministries. They didn’t know we were coming to the service. It was wonderful to worship with them.
School is out for the summer and the feeding program has come to a halt. We are happy to say that our students, staff and teachers ate a hot meal five days a week for the entire school year. They will be eager for September to come around though so they can return to school for a hearty lunch. For many of these boys and girls, this is their only meal of the day. So, if you haven’t signed up to help with our feeding program, now’s a great time so that we can build up our resources during the summer to pay the salaries of our cooks, purchase gas tanks, buy cooking oil, vegetables, cleaning products and such from the marché. With your help and the tremendous generosity of Orphans Promise we are able to do a great work in Haiti.
I wrote a post recently about the need to replace the roof on Pastor Lefort’s church. We still need $1,700 for this job. We would sure appreciate your help!
How wonderful it is to know that we have such competent leaders overseeing the work in Haiti so that we can visit with family and friends. In case you didn’t know it, this wonderful brothers and sisters are constantly praying for our Rehoboth supporters. So if you have a special request, shoot us an e-mail and we will be glad to share it with some of these dynamic prayer warriors who consider it a privilege to pray for you.
