Yesterday, I returned to Wilmington to have the drains removed They had been attached to my body since my surgery on October 20, 2020 – a total of 41 days! Due to fluid buildup, I had to walk around with tubes coming out from everywhere. These were attached to two huge bulbs which received the fluid drawn from my chest. There is no word to express the relief of having all this paraphenalia removed! The simple act of wearing anything besides a button-up shirt (usually a pajama top) is indescribable. Sometimes we don’t know what freedom is until we lose it!
I look forward to rehab tomorrow. I hope they can help me get more mobility in my left arm. It has been aching all day. I do ask for your continued prayers since I will be starting chemotherapy soon.
I miss my family, but wanted to share a bright spot during a difficult time. I sure miss these two. Sam and Lorelei are growing up so fast and this is their latest pic shared with us on Thanksgiving. Looking forward to the day when everyone can be together again. Now, to get that Christmas tree up and decorated!
