A Season of Hope: Support Rehoboth Ministries this Christmas

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! As the crisp winter air settles in, it brings with it not just the festive spirit of the holidays, but also unexpected challenges. This time of year has been a reminder of both the difficulties and blessings that shape our journey—both in our family’s life and in the work we’re doing through Rehoboth Ministries.

I (John) am no stranger to the realities of struggle, and this season has certainly tested my resilience. Recently, we faced a series of setbacks that have left us navigating some serious hurdles. An IRS issue has added stress to our already full plate. My father’s unexpected hospitalization revealed the alarming fact that his health insurance had been canceled without his knowledge, leading us into a lengthy process of applying for financial assistance and trying to get his insurance reinstated. And just before Thanksgiving, my parents’ hot water heater broke, adding another unexpected expense.

On my own journey, I made the leap into full-time ministry this year, stepping away from my job in public education in response to God’s calling. While the work in Haiti continues to be fully funded, the personal support I need has fallen short, leaving me in a financial bind. To make matters worse, while speaking at a supporting church in November, my car unexpectedly broke down, stranding me two hours from home. I was able to sell the car for a fraction of what I bought it for, but what I made wasn’t nearly enough to cover the cost of a replacement.

These challenges have been tough, but I have also experienced the power of community and been reminded of the Lord’s presence along the way. Christmas is a season of hope, of generosity, and of coming together to make a real difference in the lives of others, which is why I am reaching out to you today.

I am asking for your prayers, your support, and your generosity. It’s been a challenging season, but together, we can continue to spread the hope, joy, and love of Christ.
